The event organising committee spokesperson said that the event which was to take place on August 30, 2020 will have to be scheduled to a later date when it is deemed safe, considering the current pandemic situation and also the safety precaution needed.
“It is unfortunate that the climbathon will not take place this year but the safety and wellbeing of participants and the community is top priority, and we need to do our part to help break the transmission of Covid-19,” it said in a statement here.
The committee also noted that this year’s climbathon was being organised by Kampung Bunga’s Development and Security committee in collaboration with the Serian District Council and supported by Serian Resident Office & Kelab Sukan and Rekreasi DUN Tarat Kesutar.
“However, those who have registered for the event earlier, their participation for this year’s climbathon will be reimbursed accordingly
