KUCHING, April 24: Miri Indoor Stadium is set to come alive next month with two major concerts—MeleTOP TVS Concert and Berkat Gawai-Kaamatan Concert—designed to celebrate local talent and further uplift the creative industry in Sarawak and Sabah.
Sarawak Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, announced that the MeleTOP TVS Concert, powered by UMobile, will be held on May 17, with its official recording scheduled for May 18.
Congratulating organisers TVS and Astro for MeleTOP’s debut in East Malaysia, Abdul Karim lauded the collaboration as a positive example of cooperation between two leading entertainment giants.
“The proactive synergy and collaboration between the two reputable parties is exactly what the industry needs because it is bringing something truly special to the audience, not just here in Miri, but for viewers across Malaysia.
“For the respective talents from Sarawak and Sabah who are taking part in the two concerts, performing on the big stage will serve as a good milestone for our local talent and entertainment fraternity. It is the testament that no dream is too big,” he said during a press conference held at Baitul Makmur II building here today.
The MeleTOP TVS Concert will feature a star-studded line-up that includes Dayang Nurfaizah, Hael Husaini, Stacy, Dolla, Floor 88, Namie, and more.
The concert will be broadcast live on TVS (Channel 122 on Astro, MYTV and Unifi TV), Astro ONE, and Sooka.
On May 21, the celebration continues with the Berkat Gawai-Kaamatan Concert, headlined by Malaysia’s queen of rock, Ella.
