KUCHING, Apr 24: An attempted robbery at a bank in Tabuan Tranquility here earlier this afternoon was swiftly foiled by security personnel and members of the public, leading to the suspect’s arrest.
The incident, which occurred around 4pm, saw a man believed to have tried to snatch a money bag from a security team assigned to the bank.
However, his attempt was unsuccessful thanks to the quick actions of bystanders who intervened and detained the suspect on the spot.
Several videos capturing the moment of the arrest have since gone viral on Facebook, showing the suspect being pinned down by members of the public before police arrived at the scene.
The suspect was brought to the Kuching District Police Headquarters (IPD Kuching) for further investigation.
A car, believed to have been used by the suspect during the commission of the crime, was also seized by the authorities. — DayakDaily
