SIBU, March 20: The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) here is approaching a digital method to collect feedback from the public by introducing a QR code, which is a feedback collection method that allows users to scan a unique code with their smartphone.

Speaking to reporters after the 216th Police Day celebration today, Sibu district police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili said they were launching this QR code to make it easier for the public to provide feedback.

“Before this, we manually collected public opinions using the complaint box placed at police stations. So, this time, we are digitising it, so that (the public) only need to scan the code,” he said.

After scanning the code, the public could provide feedback in English, Malay, or Chinese.

Zulkipli is confident that through this, the police force could use the feedback provided to improve service delivery.

“Every month, our special team will look (at the feedback), and if there is a weakness, we will try to improve it. That is the most important thing, as we want to maintain good service,” he said.

A total of 360 officers and members of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) participated in the parade.

During the ceremony, Zulkipli also presented certificates of appreciation to 46 recipients.

Also present were Bukit Assek assemblyman Joseph Chieng; Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) chairman Clarence Ting Ing Horh; Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC) chairman Sempurai Petrus Ngelai; and community leaders, which include Temenggong Datuk Wan Hamid Edruce Tuanku Mohamad and Temenggong Stanley Geramong. — DayakDaily
