KUCHING, Dec 3: Nicholas Kudi Jantai Masing and Anyi Jana are the only two new faces among candidates from Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) in the upcoming Sarawak polls.
While Nicholas Kudi will take the place of the late Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing to contest in Baleh, Anyit Jana, who is a teacher, is replacing Ngemah incumbent Alexander Vincent.
PRS has been allocated a total of 11 seats under Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS). Â Apart from the two new faces, the rest of the nine seats are defended by its incumbents.
They are Datuk Snowdan Lawan (Balai Ringin), Datuk Mong Dagang (Bukit Begunan), Datuk Malcolm Mussen Lamoh (Batang Ai), Christopher Gira Sambang (Tamin), Datuk John Sikie Tayai (Kakus), Wilson Nyabong Ijang (Pelagus), Datuk Liwan Lagang (Belaga), Chukpai Kennedy Ugon (Murum), and Majang Renggi (Samalaju).
All 11 candidates will be contesting under the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) flag in the 12th Sarawak Election (PRN12).
Meanwhile, GPS also fielded 47 other candidates from Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), 18 from Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP), and six from Progressive Democratic Party (PDP). — DayakDaily
