KUCHING, June 2: Waste collection services in certain areas under Trieneken’s service municipalities will be disrupted for the next two weeks after a staff from its Kuching Logistic Services Division tested positive for Covid-19, which prompted more than 15 operation employees being placed under movement restrictions.

In a statement today, Trienekens Sarawak Sdn Bhd said that the team member who last worked on May 29, tested positive on June 1.

The company has immediately enforced several precautionary measures in accordance with guidelines from the relevant authorities, including closing the Kuching Logistic and Services office for disinfection.

“All vehicles and receptacles have also been disinfected. All colleagues who were in close contact with the affected team member have been identified (to the authorities) and were immediately isolated and quarantined pending swab testing.”

Following quarantine orders related to the positive case, as well as movement restrictions in living areas affecting more than 15 operation employees, Trienekens emphasised that waste collection services of certain areas under Trienekens’ service municipalities will be affected for the next two weeks due to consequent manpower issues faced by the company.

Seeking the public’s cooperation and understanding during this period, Trienekens advised the public to contact Trienekens for more information or assistance.

Even though waste collection may be delayed, Trienekens hopes the public would be patient as they would work tirelessly to quickly address the issues.

The company reiterated that additional precautionary measures are in place for the best interest of its team members and associates.

It added that its offices and facilities, as well as vehicles and receptacles are disinfected every week, while employees are provided with personal protective equipment and sanitisers.

Hazardous waste operations and municipal waste operations are also managed separately, with work rotation teams to ensure no cross contamination. — DayakDaily
