Sarawak Premier begins official working visit to Asian Devt Bank in Manila

MANILA, Sept 7: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg arrived in Manila today to begin his official working visit to the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

He is leading a Sarawak delegation comprising senior State government officials and representatives from several strategic State agencies and entities.

Among those accompanying him are Sarawak Financial Secretary Dato Sri Dr Wan Lizozman Wan Omar, Deputy Minister for Utility (Sarawak Energy and PETROS) Datuk Ibrahim Baki, Sarawak Energy group chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Sharbini Suhaili, and Development Bank of Sarawak (DBOS) CEO Datuk Laura Lee Ngion Hion, along with several other dignitaries.

Upon arrival, the Premier attended a high tea reception with the delegation, followed by a dinner and briefing session in the evening.

Tomorrow (Sept 8), he is scheduled to hold a private meeting with ADB president Masato Kanda, followed by a meeting with the ADB Board of Directors, and a fireside chat with ADB.

ADB is a multilateral development finance institution that supports economic and social development across the Asia-Pacific region through financing, technical assistance, and advisory services. — DayakDaily
