KUCHING, March 22: The Sessions Court here sentenced a security guard to eight years’ imprisonment and three strokes of the cane for raping his 14-year-old girlfriend and impregnating her.
The 31-year-old accused from Krokong pleaded guilty to the charge framed under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code, which carries an imprisonment term of up to 20 years and whipping.
Sessions Court Judge Musli Ab Hamid sentenced him to eight years’ imprisonment, with effect from today and three strokes of the cane.
He was found guilty of raping the girl at a hut in Bau, between October 2021 and February 2022.
According to the brief facts of the case, a doctor of a government clinic lodged a police report after he found that the victim was pregnant.
Upon police investigation, it was found that the accused had sexual intercourse with the underage victim before they broke up in February 2022.
On September 26, 2022, the victim gave birth to a baby boy and a DNA report revealed that the accused is the biological father to the baby.
