KUCHING, April 24: The third BAS.MY Kuching route, Q08M, connecting Saujana to the Bau Bus Terminal, officially began operations this morning.
Spanning 34 kilometres with 34 designated stops, the new route aims to enhance connectivity between Kuching and Bau.
To mark the launch, Mas Gading MP YB Mordi Bimol, along with Sarawak Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (LPKP) chairman Michael Kong and deputy director Razami Mohamad Jamali, conducted a site visit to observe the new route’s operations, with the first trip departing from the bus stop at Jalan Rock.
According to a media release, Route Q08M is serviced by six newly deployed disabled-friendly (OKU-friendly) buses, offering greater accessibility for all commuters.
The service runs daily from Saujana Bus Station to the Bau Bus Terminal. Operating hours are from 6am to 10pm, Monday to Saturday, with hourly trips and increased frequency—every 30 minutes—during weekday peak hours. On Sundays, buses operate from 6am to 9pm.
Fare rates range from RM0.90 to RM4 depending on distance and can be paid via debit/credit cards, e-wallets, or cash.
Malaysian citizens who are persons with disabilities (OKU), senior citizens aged 60 and above, school students, and university students can enjoy free rides by applying for the BAS.MY Concession Card.
Additionally, regular passengers may subscribe to the RM50 BAS.MY 30-Day Pass, which allows unlimited travel on all BAS.MY Kuching routes for 30 days.
