Thunderstorm alerts issued for Kuching, Samarahan, Simunjan and Limbang, valid until 5pm

KUCHING, May 19: Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued thunderstorm alerts for Kuching, Samarahan, Simunjan and Limbang in a notice which is valid until 5pm today.

Heavy rainfall and strong winds are also expected in the affected areas.

“A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with rain intensity greater than 20mm/hour that is approaching or expected to last for more than an hour.

“A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning that is valid for a maximum of six hours per release,” it added. — DayakDaily
