Heavy rain, thunderstorms forecast expected in Samarahan, Sri Aman, nearby areas until 9pm (April 16)

KUCHING, April 16: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm, heavy rain, and strong wind warning for several areas in Sarawak, effective until 9pm today.

The affected areas include Samarahan (Simunjan), Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah (Tanjung Manis, Daro, and Matu), Kapit (Song, Kapit, and Belaga), Bintulu (Tatau), Miri (Beluru, Telang Usan, and Marudi), and Limbang.

The warning was issued at 4.50pm after signs indicated thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm per hour, expected to persist for more than an hour.
