MIRI, Dec 12: A suspected male drunk driver was detained after he was involved in a collision that injured another person at wee hours of Sunday (Dec 10).
Miri OCPD ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said, the incident happened in front of a leading hotel here, at Jalan Miri Pujut, Pelita Commercial Centre around 1.10 am.
“The suspect, aged 57, has been detained by the police to facilitate our investigation on the case,” Alexson added.
The incident involved a Ford Ranger driven by the suspect which hit two other vehicles (a four-wheel-drive and a BMW) parked in front of the hotel.
The suspect’s vehicle had also hit a man nearby, injuring him.
The case is being investigated under Section 43 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987
