TYT Wan Junaidi plans statewide tour to connect with Sarawakians

KUCHING, May 2: Sarawak’s Head of State (TYT) Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar has expressed a desire to reach out to the people of Bumi Kenyalang through a tour throughout the State, particularly in the interior areas.

According to a TVS news report, Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Corporate Affairs, Information, and Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) Datuk Abdullah Saidol stated that Wan Junaidi had informed him that he wanted to highlight the uniqueness of Sarawak’s multi-racial community during the tour.


Abdullah Saidol also stated that the programme’s date had yet to be determined, but Wan Junaidi was clearly enthusiastic about the idea, particularly visits to the interior.

“TYT also advised us that one of the issues to be addressed is Sarawak’s unique sense of unity.

“Tun (Wan Junaidi) wants to position himself as the leader of all races, ensuring that racial unity remains the main feature of Sarawak,” he was quoted as saying in the news report.

The minister told reporters that he was informed about the matter during a courtesy visit to Wan Junaidi at Astana Negeri Sarawak here today.

Ukas director Samuel Simon and other senior Ukas officials were also present during the courtesy visit. — DayakDaily
