BAU, June 22: Sarawak Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Dato Sri Roland Sagah Wee Inn has called on voters in Tasik Biru to continue supporting Deputy Minister of Transport (Riverine and Marine) Datuk Henry Harry Jinep, praising his track record in delivering land titles and driving development in Bau.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Bidayuh Cultural Centre (BCC) here today, Sagah said Henry, despite serving as an elected representative for Tasik Biru for only about 10 years, had shown strong commitment to the constituency.

“I hope that in Tasik Biru, you will continue to support Dato Henry Harry Jinep.

“He has only served for 10 years and is still young. But this smart man, this very good man, has helped his people obtain not only land titles but also brought rapid development to Bau,” he said.

Sagah further said NCR land issues had long been a sensitive matter for the Bidayuh community, and progress in issuing land titles was key to securing native land ownership and preventing future disputes.

He said Henry’s efforts in assisting residents to obtain land titles were part of broader State-level initiatives to formalise NCR land under the Sarawak Land Code.

Meanwhile, Abang Johari remained coy when asked by reporters after the event whether Henry would be fielded again by Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) in the next State election.

The question came after Sagah’s public praise of the Tasik Biru assemblyman and his call for continued support.

“I don’t know. When is the election? I don’t know either. So I cannot respond to your question,” Abang Johari said.

Pressed further on whether he could give any indication, the Premier said he was focused on other priorities.

“It’s difficult even to give a hint. I am busy with other matters first.

“Let Negeri Sembilan and Johor get excited,” he pointed out.
