KUCHING, June 22: A search operation has been launched for a 51-year-old man who was reported missing after failing to return home from an oil palm plantation in Empayang, Kabong.
According to a report from the Fire and Rescue Department, a call was received at 4.44pm today, and firefighters from the Saratok station were deployed.
Based on the report lodged by the victim’s younger brother, the victim, identified as Jobeni Akau, left home on June 12 to go to the oil palm plantation in Empayang.
The following day (June 13), when he went to deliver food to the victim, he discovered that the food delivered the previous day had not been touched or eaten.
The victim would normally return home after about five days. However, he has yet to return, and reports have since been lodged with both the Kabong Police Station and Bomba.
The missing person was last seen wearing worn clothing, with an additional piece of clothing tied around his waist and shorts. He has a thin build, no front teeth, a thin moustache and beard, weighs approximately 40kg, and has shoulder-length hair. — DayakDaily
