Rohani only has normal fever, says ministry

Dato' Sri Rohani Abdul Karim

KUCHING, Feb 9: The Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development has issued a statement to dispel rumours that its Minister Dato’ Sri Rohani Abdul Karim is seriously ill.

The statement referred to news reports on social media and news portals, claiming that Rohani was rushed to the hospital due to serious illness.

These news items quoting two close aides of Rohani, according to the statement, are untrue.

“Referring to the reports on a few social media and news portals, may it be known that the health of Dato Sri Rohani Abdul Karim is not like what has been reported.

“Rohani, who is also the newly minted Deputy Women’s Chief of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu has not been rushed to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) as claimed.

“She went to SGH for a usual medical checkup and was told that she is suffering from normal fever,” said the statement.

The statement also said that the news quoting Rohani’s political secretary Saifuddin Matsah and senior secretary Reza Rizvy on her health condition was totally untrue. — DayakDaily
