PPM Region Five Sarawak commander ACP Ab Rahman Mat Hasan said the operation was carried out at about 12.30pm by officers and personnel from patrol boat PA49 of the PPM Region Five Bintulu Operations Headquarters.

During the inspection, police discovered frozen meat stored in four of the eight containers found at the premises.

“A local man guarding the premises failed to produce any documents related to the imported goods,” he said in a statement as reported by TVS today.

He added that the suspect is believed to have committed an offence under the Veterinary Public Health Ordinance 1999.

Ab Rahman said police also seized a pickup truck and a forklift believed to have been used for unloading the frozen food stock, and the case has been handed over to the Bintulu Division Veterinary Department for further investigation, with the total value of the seizure estimated at RM2.93 million.

In a separate operation under Op Taring Landai, personnel from the PPM Region Five Sarikei Tactical Headquarters inspected a logging camp in the Pakan district of Julau at about 12.40pm.

Police seized four blue rubber drums and a metal drum containing about 2,300 litres of diesel during an inspection at a logging camp in the Pakan district of Julau at about 12.40pm on May 16, 2026.

The inspection uncovered about 2,300 litres of diesel stored in a transparent plastic container, four blue rubber drums and a metal drum.

Ab Rahman said a local male worker failed to produce documents or permits to possess and store the controlled goods.

He said the case has been referred to the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Sarikei Division for further action, with the seizure estimated at RM15,500.

“The total value of seizures in both operations is approximately RM2,947,980,” he said. — DayakDaily
