KUCHING, Aug 27: A 63-year-old woman who was found dead in a drain along Jalan Tan Sri Abang Ikhwan, Petra Jaya, today is believed to have crashed after losing control of the motorcycle she was riding.
Kuching District Police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the fatal accident occurred at about 10.15am.
“Initial investigations found that the woman, who was riding a Modenas CT110 motorcycle, was travelling from Matang Jaya towards the Petra Jaya Health Clinic when she apparently lost control of the motorcycle.
“The motorcycle subsequently crashed into a drain on the left side of the road,” he said in a statement today.
The woman, who was reportedly missing, was found dead at the scene.
Alexson said the case was being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
