KUCHING, Aug 27: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has expanded its Madani Compassion Service Programme (SIM), offering a RM70 subsidy to customers who obtain vehicle maintenance services at participating Perodua, Proton and PETRONAS AutoExpert service centres nationwide, subject to terms and conditions.
Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said the initiative, introduced in conjunction with National Month 2026, is aimed at helping Malaysians reduce vehicle maintenance costs while encouraging regular servicing to ensure vehicles remain safe and roadworthy.
According to a statement today, the expanded programme is one of the initiatives under the Payung Rahmah Madani umbrella and builds on the SIM programme first introduced in 2025 through a collaboration between KPDN and PETRONAS AutoExpert.
This year, Perodua and Proton have joined the programme, significantly broadening its reach and enabling more vehicle owners to benefit from the subsidy.
Under SIM 2026, the subsidy is available at 531 participating service centres and workshops across the country, comprising 221 Perodua service centres, 186 Proton service centres and 124 PETRONAS AutoExpert workshops.
Consumers can make service bookings through the respective service providers’ applications, namely UFirst Perodua Passport for Perodua customers, Proton Link 2.0 for Proton owners and Setel for PETRONAS AutoExpert customers.
Armizan said the expansion of SIM reflects KPDN’s efforts, together with its strategic industry partners, to translate the National Month 2026 theme, “Malaysia MADANI: Kesejahteraan Dinikmati”, into initiatives that provide direct and tangible benefits to the people.
He said the programme not only helps ease the financial burden of vehicle upkeep but is also expected to promote a culture of regular vehicle maintenance among motorists.
The minister also expressed appreciation to Perodua, Proton and PETRONAS AutoExpert for supporting the programme, adding that public-private sector collaborations would continue to be strengthened to expand benefits for consumers and complement government efforts to address cost-of-living challenges.
The announcement was made in conjunction with KPDN’s National Day and Malaysia Day (HKHM) 2026 celebration in Putrajaya today.
Other activities organised under KPDN’s HKHM 2026 programme include the National Month Madani Rahmah Sales Programme (PJRM), the Batik Colours Exploration Competition, the “Aku Kasih Malaysia” Patriotic Challenge and the HKHM 2026 Office Beautification Competition.
In addition, TikTok Shop Malaysia will hold its online 9.9 Rahmah Compassion Sale on Sept 9, offering discounts of between 10 and 30 per cent on selected essential goods. — DayakDaily
