KUCHING, May 16: Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) president Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing pointed to the party’s growing 250,000-member base as evidence of rising political strength as he called for full mobilisation to defend all seats in the upcoming State election.

Speaking at the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) Triennial General Assembly (TGA) 2026 held here today, he said the party’s expanding membership reflected growing public confidence in its struggle and organisational strength.

He noted that the figure had increased following the entry of former Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) members in 2024, describing it as a key factor in strengthening the party’s grassroots network.

“This is not just a number. It reflects the people’s confidence in our struggle,” he said. An audio recording of his speech was later shared with DayakDaily.

He urged party members to remain united and fully prepared as the party moves towards the next State election, stressing the need to defend all seats currently held by PDP.

“Our representatives have worked hard and deserve the people’s continued trust,” he added, calling for stronger coordination and commitment among party members in the lead-up to the polls. — DayakDaily
