SIBU, Oct 7: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Youth Wing members are urged to consider the party as a ‘university’ to study politics.

PBB vice president Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee said, as new people in politics, the members of the Youth Wing need more exposure to empower them in their role in politics.

“Consider this PBB as a ‘university’ to gain as much knowledge as possible to become a politician of high integrity who cares about the people,” he said in his speech concluding the Sibu Zone PBB Youth Wing Launching Ceremony, today.

Dr Annuar, who is also Sarawak’s Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development also reminded members of the youth wing not to grab positions in the party.

According to him, positions in the party will come naturally after leadership, struggle and capacity in serving the people is evident.

“Don’t use the party to elevate yourself because you want a position. Let your struggle be sincere and seen by the people themselves. When your struggle is evident, the people themselves will elevate you to be on top,” he stressed.

Meanwhile, Dr Annuar also wants the party’s youth to use the party as a vehicle to cooperate with various ethnic groups in Sarawak and reject elements of division.

“This matter must be understood by the new wing of our youth, we want the party to be strong and to foster cooperation with the Malays, Ibans, Melanaus, Bidayuhs, Orang Ulu and so on for our party’s struggle for the people,” said the Nangka assemblyman.

Dr Annuar said that the newly established youth wing is to give space to young people to choose the right platform in politics and the party.
