Over 10k visitors attend second day of Premier’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri Open House at BCCK

KUCHING, April 11: Over 10,000 visitors flocked to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and wife Datin Amar Juma’aini Tun Tuanku Bujang’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri Open House at the Borneo Convention Center Kuching (BCCK) today.

Irrespective of age and background, hundreds gathered at the lobby as early as 9am, eagerly waiting to get inside.


Following their arrival at about 10.30am, Abang Johari and wife proceeded to greet the distinguished guests and members of the public who had been waiting for a photo opportunity, before making their way to the VIP table.

At the event, after his welcoming speech, the Premier also took the chance to entertain guests by performing several Hari Raya songs on stage at the event.

Meanwhile, one of the visitors to the Open House, Lim Hui Ling, who come with her family said this year’s celebrations was much more lively compared to previous years.

“I’ve attended the previous Premier’s Open House before, but this year it feels merrier, with plenty of entertainment and much more guests in attendance,” she said.

Another visitor, Salina Yusuf, said that it was her family’s first time attending the Premier’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri Open House.

Originally from Kuching, Salina, who now lives in Kedah with her family for the past 15 years, said she would usually return to Kuching for the Hari Raya holidays and had decided to attend the event.

“I feel very excited, and it would be even better if I could meet and shake hands with the Premier,” she laughed.

Salina praised the delicious and satisfying food served at the event and appreciated the lively atmosphere, where people of all races and religions could sit together without any issues.

“The atmosphere is also lively where everyone regardless of race and religion can sit together at one table without any issues,” she added. — DayakDaily
