KUCHING, Sept 13: Haze conditions in Sarawak have improved, with only Lubok Antu recording an Air Pollutant Index (API) reading above 200 as of 12pm today.
According to the Natural Resources and Environment Board Sarawak (NREB), Lubok Antu recorded an API of 201, placing it in the ‘very unhealthy’ category.
Several areas recorded unhealthy readings, namely Serian (181), Sri Aman and Betong (168), Samarahan (155), Kuching (154), Kanowit (149), Tebedu (129), and Lundu (112).
Moderate readings were recorded in Sibu (99), Sarikei (88), Mukah (78), Bintulu (77), Kapit (75), Samalaju and Miri (70), Lawas (62), ILP Miri (59), and Limbang (55).
Meanwhile, Bario recorded an API reading of 43, placing it under the ‘good’ category.
Overall, this marks an improvement from Saturday’s (Sept 12) 10am readings, whereby Serian, Lundu, Lubok Antu, and Tebedu recorded API readings above 200. — DayakDaily
