KUCHING, May 4: Police are still working to locate Pamela Ling Yueh, who is believed to have been abducted while heading to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) office in Putrajaya on April 9.
According to a news report by Bernama, no ransom has been demanded, and authorities have recorded statements from 12 witnesses in connection with her disappearance.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said those interviewed included family members, MACC officers and the victim’s lawyer to assist in the investigation.
“So far, there are no leads or developments regarding her whereabouts,” he said briefly when contacted by Bernama.
Rusdi had earlier also said that no ransom demand had been received in connection with the case, which is being investigated under Section 365 of the Penal Code for abduction.
Pamela, mother of three and reported wife of a Sarawakian businessman Datuk Seri Thomas Hah Tiing Siu, founder of Miri-based JoinLand Group, was last heard from at 1.57pm on April 9, when she messaged her lawyer via WhatsApp, saying she was heading to the MACC office via e-hailing and expected to arrive by 2.08pm.
However, according to her brother Simon Ling, attempts by her family and lawyer to reach her after 2pm were unsuccessful as calls went unanswered and messages undelivered.
Grab Malaysia has also confirmed that the ride was marked as completed, but no further information has been obtained. – DayakDaily
