KUCHING, March 21: Those who frequent the stall of a “famous” nasi lemak seller nearby the Shell Middle-Distillate Synthesis (SMDS) area in Bintulu should get tested for Covid-19.

This after the operator was diagnosed positive for the coronavirus, advised Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing.

He raised concern that there is a possibility the customers who frequent the stall recently might get infected due to the exposure.

“I appeal to anyone who had made contact with the seller, including his fellow business residents, customers, neighbours, friends and family members, to get tested and practise self-isolate for at least 14 days,” he said in a press statement today.

The Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) president added that he will also remind factories in Tanjung Kidurong industrial area to get their employees tested for Covid-19 as soon as possible.

“Especially those who had frequent the nasi lemak stall,” he continued.

It was understood that the nasi lemak seller, who operated at the nearby parking lot in SMDS area using a four-wheel drive vehicle, was diagnosed positive for Covid-19 in Bintulu Hospital.

Meanwhile, Sarawak recorded 10 new positive Covid-19 cases today, bringing the total to 68 cases since the first three cases reported on Friday, March 13.

According to the State Disaster Management Committee, five of the cases were reported at Sibu Hospital, three in SGH (including the 40-year-old woman who died today) and two in Bintulu.

The state also recorded another 37 Person Under Investigation (PUI) cases, bringing the total accumulative cases to 751. Out of these, 711 had tested negative and 40 awaiting test results. — DayakDaily
