KUCHING, Nov 22: A 23-year-old motorcyclist was killed following a collision with a car at Jalan Liu Shan Bang yesterday.
In a news report by TVS, Kota Samarahan District Police chief Deputy Superintendent Jaimi Husin stated that the accident occurred at approximately 8am, involving a car driven by a 32-year-old man heading from Mile 7 towards Penrissen Camp at Mile 8.
“Upon reaching Jalan Liu Shan Bang, the car, which was travelling straight, was struck by a motorcycle that veered from the opposite direction into its lane.
“The car driver was unharmed in the incident,” he confirmed in a statement.
The motorcyclist sustained severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
