BAU, April 24: Two passengers were killed while the driver of a car was critically injured in a collision with a three-tonne lorry along Jalan Serikin near Kampung Stass this morning.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) in Bau received an emergency call at 10.06am and swiftly deployed a team of firefighters to the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the driver and two passengers of a Perodua Kancil trapped inside the severely wrecked vehicle. Using special rescue tools, they worked to extricate the victims from the mangled car.
The driver, who had no identification documents on him, was rushed to Bau Hospital in an ambulance from the Ministry of Health.
The front passenger, identified as a 32-year-old man, and a female passenger in the back seat, also without identification, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The 36-year-old lorry driver sustained minor injuries.
After clearing debris and ensuring the safety of the area, the operation was officially concluded at 11.40am. — DayakDaily
