13 local businesses selected for inaugural Tegas fundraising accelerator

TFA is designed to help Sarawakian entrepreneurs to learn everything about fundraising and get businesses into their best possible fundraising shape.

KUCHING, Sept 29: Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (Tegas) has selected 13 local businesses for its inaugural Tegas Fundraising Accelerator (TFA) programme which is running at Tegas Digital Village from Sept 29 to Oct 2.

According to a press release, the participating companies are The Brew Crew, Nebula Technologies, Thirst Asia, Timogah, Hornbill Agriculture, Pungu Borneo, WAT Academy, MH Mahiz, IX Ventura, Pharmaplus, Spektrum Cahaya, Chikento and Evolving Brilliance Technologies.

TFA is a four-day programme designed to help Sarawakian entrepreneurs to learn about fundraising and get businesses into their best possible fundraising shape.

TFA is also aimed at supporting the growth of startups and social enterprises in Sarawak, in line with the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.

Tegas chairman Datu Len Talif Salleh said the selected participants will meet seasoned entrepreneurs who are experienced in fundraising and hear directly from investors.

“Participants will also be exempted from on-boarding fees worth RM2,888 when they raise funding on the pitchIN platform after the programme,” he said.

Among the speakers and mentors onboard for the programme are Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission former chairman Dato Mohamed Sharil Mohamed Tarmizi, Captii Ventures & Artem Ventures CEO Ng Sai Kit, iStone Berhad director Chan Kok San, PolicyStreet co-founder Wilson Beh, MoneyMatch co-founder Naysan Munusamy, Ficus Venture Capital co-founder Abdullah Hidayat Mohamad, GOLOG Malaysia founder and CEO Ivan Chin, and SERV CEO Arief Imran.

The programme is organised by Tegas in partnership with pitchIN, Malaysia’s largest Equity Crowdfunding (ECF) platform.

pitchIN is a registered Recognised Market Operator with the Securities Commission of Malaysia and has assisted more than 140 companies which have raised more than RM240 million on its platform. — DayakDaily
