KUCHING, March 18: Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas is urging the Tan Sri Empiang Jabu Research Chair to organise a forum on PCDS 2030 to allow it to be understood by Sarawakians especially the Dayak community.
He said the people do not seem the grasp the inclusivity and comprehensiveness of the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS 2030) introduced by the Sarawak government.
“It’s a very comprehensive programme that encompasses everything from digital innovation and technology, infrastructure, poverty eradication, looking after the interests of women to reduce the education gap between urban and rural areas.
“It’s very complete and for all of us, in spite of our race, religion. It is for all Sarawakians,” he said.
That is why it is important for Sarakup Indu Dayak Sarawak (SIDS) members to understand the plans of the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) led State government so that there could be improvements.
Uggah said the Sarawak government is ever ready to listen to feedback and together improve toward achieving a high-income State by 2030.
“And you are all part of it. But if you don’t know the programme (PCDS 2030), then it will be an issue.
“So, I hope the research chair can play a part, maybe organise a smaller forum as a way to inculcate knowledge and technology,” he said during the National Conference on Dayak Women official dinner at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) here today.
Among other dignitaries who attended the dinner were the organising committee chairman Professor Datuk Dr Jayum Jawan, House of Senate, Malaysian on Dayak Women and Politics YB Senator Susan Chemerai Anding, and SIDS president Dato Alice Jawan Empaling. — DayakDaily
