SUPP Stakan chairman on controversial Palestine Solidarity Week: M’sian citizens never mandated their children be radicalised

Dato Sim Kiang Chiok

KUCHING, Oct 30: Malaysian citizens never mandated their children to be radicalised, tainted with warmongering, and taught to glorify war and violence, says Dato Sim Kiang Chiok.

In pointing this out, Sim, who is Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Stakan branch chairman, calls for the cancellation of the Palestine Solidarity Week in schools.

“The Madani government need to show it seriousness and zero tolerance towards this outrageous outcome made by Ministry of Education (MOE) and the schools involved,” he said in a statement today.

According to Sim, the citizens support and sympathise with Palestinians for the atrocities committed against them and condemn Israel for their continued cruelty in Palestine.

However, he emphasise that this is not an excuse to start involving impressionable children at their formative ages in matters that great world leaders themselves have yet to solve all these years.

He said that Malaysia is a multiracial country and should children start believing that violence solves problems, then the country will be heading towards violent civil war one day.

“Should we keep quiet about what is happening in the past few days? Then that terrible outcome may come sooner than we can imagine.

“Once again we urge that the Education Minister take full responsibility, to send a clear message that these missteps have serious implications and consequences on our children and country,” he added. — DayakDaily
