KUCHING, May 24: The Serian district has became a green zone of Covid-19 today after no positive case was reported in the district in the last 14 days.
Serian last reported a positive Covid-19 case on May 10.
With Serian turning into green zone today from yellow zone, Sarawak currently has 38 districts which are classified as green zone.
The remaining two districts which are still classified as yellow zone are Kuching and Sibu.
At the same time, State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today said there was no new positive Covid-19 case reported statewide.
It noted the cumulative number of positive cases in Sarawak remained at 545 cases.
The committee asserted that there were six patients who have recovered from Covid-19 and discharged from hospital today.
It gathered that out of the six patients, four of them were from Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) while two from Bintulu Hospital.
SDMC added that there were also 68 new cases of person-under-investigation (PUI) today while 58 PUI cases are awaiting laboratory results.
On another note, the committee disclosed that there were 239 people who have returned to Sarawak today and being quarantined at the respective hotels as person under surveillance (PUS).
It revealed the total number of people who are still under quarantine as PUS were 2,051 while 10,138 PUS have completed their quarantine duration at hotels today.-DayakDaily
