KUCHING, May 19: Public Health, Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian believes Sarawak has been enjoying political stability due to the absence of opposition representation in the Sarawak Government.
At the same time, Dr Sim who is also Deputy Premier attributed Sarawak’s stability to the visionary and forward-looking leadership of Premier Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
“Political stability is because we do not have DAP in Sarawak Government as they are always divisive, polarising and politicking; disguise as championing for the rakyat.
“We have witness in this August House their behaviours in every session as indeed one’s character cannot change,” said Dr Sim who is Batu Kawa assemblyman (GPS-SUPP).
To highlight Sarawak recent progress under Abang Johari, Dr Sim cited the social media statement posted by Chairman of Temasek Trust, Ho Ching who has been consistently named the “World’s 100 Most Powerful Women”.
“Sarawak is a pace setter in Asia for a green economy. Kudos to YAB Datuk Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Johari and his team and people,” Dr Sim cited Ho’s post.
He stressed that it is not enough for Premier Abang Johari to perform well alone, saying every Sarawak agency, NGO and Sarawakian must also play their part and excel.
In this way, he said, everyone can make a difference in Sarawak’s nation-building efforts, ensuring a better future not only for Sarawakians in the state but also for those in West Malaysia and abroad.
He added that this would enable them to return home to work, retire, and enjoy Sarawak’s values, spirit and way of life, especially if they become frustrated or disillusioned in West Malaysia or overseas.
“Given the political chaos in West Malaysia in the last few days, the Malaysia General Election may be sooner than Sarawak election.
“Let’s ‘tolak’ (reject) West Malaysia toxic cultures, chaotic politics and (eject) all ‘Malayan Parties’ from Sarawak.
“Let (politics) of Sarawak be different from Malaysia politics which has gone from bad to worse for the last 10 years as they thrived on divisive, polarising, negative, toxic narrative and tearing down the nation instead of nation building,” said Dr Sim, who is also Sarawak United Peoples’ Party president. —DayakDaily
