Police issue 24 compounds for SOP violations involving gatherings, vehicle-sharing of over 3 persons

KUCHING, May 31: As the saying goes two’s a company and three’s a crowd, any more than that will be fined as a total of 24 compounds were issued by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) throughout the State involving gatherings and sharing of vehicles with more than three persons inside.

State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement today, said 14 of the compounds were issued for violation of the Movement Control Order (MCO) standard operating procedures (SOPs) for gatherings of more than three peoples in public places.

“Another 10 compounds were issued involving SOPs violations of  more than three persons inside one car,” it said.


SDMC said among other SOP violations compounded; are failure to practice physical distancing and consuming alcohol (six), being inside a premise that is not allowed for operation during MCO (six), being outside of their house after 10pm without reasonable excuse (three), failure to wear face mask (one), failure to record the time when entering a premise (one) and failure to count the number of customers on the premises (one).

“This brings the total number of compounds issued by the police since March 18, 2021, until today to 6,939 compounds,” it added.

On the same note, SDMC said failure to update the registration book made up most compounds issued by the local government authorities (PBT) today.

The committee said other SOPs violations compounded by PBT include failure to scan the MySejahtera applications (six), thermometer not functioning (two), operating without permit (two), more than three persons in one vehicle (two), and not wearing facemask (one).

“To date, a total of 834 compounds have been issued by the PBT, since Feb this year,” it added. — DayakDaily
