KUCHING, May 31: Households with monthly earnings below RM2,500 will get RM500 and households earning between RM2,501 and RM5,000 per month will receive RM300 financial assistance under the Bantuan Prihatan Rakyat (BPR).

Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, when announcing the Pemerkasa Plus stimulus package in a televised address today, also said the singles group earning less than RM2,500 would be receiving RM100 each from the federal government.

He said this round of BPR assistance which amounts to RM2.1 billion in total would be credited into the accounts of eligible recipients at the end of June and this is an addition to the last phase of BPR in September, 2020.

This is in line with the second goal of the Malaysian government’s Pemerkasa Plus which is to carry on the people’s concern agenda.

With a total value of RM40 billion, the Pemerkasa Plus has two other goals with the first being to increase the capacity of public health, and the third to support business continuity during this Covid-19 pandemic. — DayakDaily
