“The Mawang Tahup road is now totally cut off (sic) due to the landside which occurred at 2.30 this afternoon. But luckily there is no casualty,” Riot told DayakDaily.

Riot (second left) together with JKR staff and representatives from the road concessionaire were at the site this afternoon soon after learning about the disaster. The site is located just next to the village’s main entrance.

Riot, who is also the Prime Minister’s Envoy to Japan, South Korea and Taiwan disclosed that personnel from the Public Works Department (JKR) and the road concessionaire also visited the site this afternoon.

“It will take quite a while to carry out road diversion as the ravine is very deep,” he said.
