Malaysia to strengthen cooperation with China in agricultural development

KUCHING, Nov 18: Malaysia is set to strengthen its cooperation with China’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the China Green Food Development Center, according to Deputy Prime Minister Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof.

The collaboration aims to jointly adopt China’s Green Food Certification Scheme and Malaysia’s MSPO certification scheme, fostering sustainable development in agricultural products in both countries.

Fadillah shared this information in a Facebook post after a meeting with China’s Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Tang Renjian, on Thursday (Nov 17).


The meeting also included the participation of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Datuk Mohamad Bin Alamin, Malaysian Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China Dato’ Norman Bin Muhamad, and other delegations.

During the meeting, the focus was primarily on enhancing trade and exporting palm oil and related products to China.

Fadillah expressed gratitude to China for supporting the collaboration between the Malaysian Palm Oil Certification Council (MPOCC) and the China Green Food Development Center in accepting the Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) certification scheme. — DayakDaily
