Sarawak, China explore stronger cooperation in areas of mutual interest

KUCHING, Sept 1: Sarawak and China are exploring opportunities to strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest, with Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg meeting the Consul-General of the People’s Republic of China, today.

The meeting was held during Xing’s courtesy call at Satria Pertiwi Complex here.

According to TVCS, the meeting also brought together senior officials from the Consulate-General of China and the Sarawak government, providing an opportunity to further strengthen ties and cooperation between Sarawak and China.

Among the Chinese Consulate officials present were Deputy Consul-General Song Changhong, Consul Zeng Haoyao, Vice-Consul and interpreter Zhan Haoyu, and Vice-Consul Gao Xiaoyu.

Sarawak was represented by Deputy State Secretary Datu Lester Matthew and several senior State government officials. — DayakDaily
