KUCHING, March 16: A lorry driver and a passenger were trapped in their vehicle following a two-vehicle accident along Jalan Kota Samarahan-Asajaya.
According to a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Kota Samarahan today, they received a call regarding the incident at 8.35am and deployed a team of firefighters to the location.
The operation commander reported that the incident, which occurred along the road heading towards Kampung Tambey near Batang Samarahan Bridge, involved two lorries.
“The incident resulted in the victims being pinned inside the lorry cabin. One of the victims suffered leg injuries while the other suffered minor injuries,” it said.
Firefighters then proceeded to extract the victims using Road Traffic Accident (RTA) tools and later handed them over to the Bomba Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) for initial medical treatment before the arrival of the medical team from the Ministry of Health (MOH).
Both victims were transported to Kota Samarahan Heart Center for further treatment. — DayakDaily
