KUCHING, April 24: A 31-year-old driver escaped with minor injuries after his car caught fire from a self-accident early this morning near SMK Melugu, Sri Aman.
According a report by the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the department responded to the emergency at 7.18am and swiftly mobilised a team from the Sri Aman firestation to the scene.
The incident involved a Perodua Viva, driven by the victim who was travelling towards Kuching along Jalan Pan Borneo. The vehicle was completely destroyed by the blaze following the accident.
The driver managed to escape the vehicle before firefighters arrived. He was later treated for minor injuries by the Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) team.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze and conducted safety checks to ensure no remaining sources of ignition before concluding the operation at 7.43am. – DayakDaily
