KUCHING, March 15: Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Arts, and Performing Arts Datuk Sebastian Ting commended the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sarawak (ACCCIS) for their contributions towards assisting the Sarawak Government in reaching its target of attracting 4 million visitors by the end of 2024.

“To achieve this ambitious target, we need a comprehensive marketing strategy and collaboration among various stakeholders, including local tourism players, businesses, and communities.

“I am pleased to see ACCCIS actively supporting Sarawak Tourism through their initiatives, and I am confident that with our collective efforts, we will not only meet this target but surpass it, setting new milestones for the tourism industry in Sarawak,” Ting stated during his speech at the presentation ceremony for the winners of ‘The Heartbeat of Sarawak’ Sarawak Tourism Short Video Competition organised by ACCCIS at KCGC Innovation Hub Level 7, Wisma Chinese Chamber today.

Ting also acknowledged ACCCIS for proposing several tourism packages to delegates visiting Sarawak after the ’17th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention’ organised by them and the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM) from Sept 9 to 12.

“The proposed destinations include Kuching, Miri, and Bintulu, and we anticipate hosting more than 300 visitors from around the world,” he added.

Ting assured that his ministry would provide full support to ACCCIS to ensure the success of these tourism packages.

Regarding the video competition organized by ACCCIS, Ting said that it serves as an exemplary model of synergy between the private sector and the public sector in bolstering tourism and supporting the Sarawak Government’s vision outlined in the Post-Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030). ā€” DayakDaily
