KUCHING, March 4: Deputy Prime Minister Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof is keen to set up a leadership training centre for youths in his parliamentary constituency of Petra Jaya.

He said this training centre would allow these youth to be trained as leaders in whatever field they choose in future.

“I was asked a question on what is my aspiration for youths in my parliamentary constituency of Petra Jaya after obtaining feedback about the performance of the new unity government,” he shared.

“So, I shared my views with them that if I have the resources and ability, I would like to establish one training centre at my parliamentary constituency for them.

“The training centre will be focused on a leadership programme so that we can educate our youths to be future leaders,” he added.

He shared this with reporters at a press conference after feting some 45 youth leaders, aged 18 to 28-years-old from the Protem Pesaka Bumiputra Bersatu (PBB) youth wings from his parliamentary constituency at breakfast at an eatery in Matang today.

Fadillah stressed that the training programme would not only be aimed at turning youths into the next generation of political leaders, but also leaders in various sectors that include corporate, business, community, non-government organisations (NGO) and many more.

He said if possible, he would like these youths to gain experience not only locally, but also at the national level and then to the international level.

“This is to prepare those with leadership skills to manage Sarawak as a progressive and developing region. Not only for Sarawakians, but for all Malaysians,”

“I hope to make the youth training centre a reality during my term in office,” he said. — DayakDaily
