BINTANGOR, May 31: An unemployed man was pronounced dead after he was suspected to have fallen from the fourth floor of a shophouse at Jalan Dermaga last night.

According to Bintangor district police chief, DSP Sekam Anoi, the daughter of the deceased informed her aunt that her father who had been drinking alcohol since afternoon, was standing on a ledge outside the back window, at about 9.30pm.

“At about 10.20pm, both were inside their room when they heard a loud thud. They quickly rushed down and were shocked to find the victim lying in a pool of blood on the ground,” he disclosed.

The duo rushed the man to a clinic in a car. A medical assistant at the clinic pronounced him dead.

The victim, 29, is from Belaga.

Sekam revealed the deceased’s family members declined to have a post-mortem done as they believed that there was no foul play behind his demise. ā€” DayakDaily
