Covid-19: 30 new positive cases, 10 involved Malaysians

KUCHING, May 30: Malaysia recorded 30 new positive cases of Covid-19 today with no fatality.

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the additional number of positive cases has brought the cumulative number of positive cases for Covid-19 in Malaysia to 7,762 cases.


ā€œOut of the 30 new cases, three cases were imported.

ā€œFrom the 27 cases of local transmission, 17 cases involved non citizens.

ā€œThey are only 10 cases which involved Malaysians,ā€ he said during a press conference on the daily Covid-19 updates at Putrajaya here today.

He asserted that there was no casualty reported and the death toll due to Covid-19 remained at 115.

Dr Noor Hisham disclosed that the supervision and monitoring for the patients under investigation (PUI) Italy cluster from Kuching which involved 65 cases and five fatalities has ended today due to no positive case reported in the last 28 days from the cluster.

Apart from that, Dr Noor Hisham said there are still 1,317 active Covid-19 cases in Malaysia as of May 30.

He revealed that there are nine Covid-19 patients who are still being treated at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in the hospital with two of them required intubation.

He also said there were 95 Covid-19 patients who have recovered and discharged from the hospital today.

With the additional number of recoveries today, Dr Noor Hisham said the cumulative number of patients whom have recovered from Covid-19 throughout the country has increased to 6,330 people as of May 30. -DayakDaily
