KUCHING, Oct 13: PBB information chief Datuk Idris Buang believes that PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is pranking the nation with the latter’s claim of commanding majority support in Parliament.

Idris who is also the Muara Tuang assemblyman said he considered Anwarā€™s move as pre-Halloween mischief.

ā€œSome 18 days to Halloween, I guess DS Anwar Ibrahim is out again to prank the nation with some ā€˜instabilityā€™ by seeing the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (Al-Sultan Abdullah Riā€™ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah) for a somewhat a specific purpose but providing ambiguous or no proof of real support for him to be the prime minister.

ā€œI consider it as another pre-Halloween thrill, and nothing more than that,ā€ the senior Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) leader told DayakDaily.

Opposition leader Anwar had claimed that he has a convincing majority in Parliament and that Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin must resign.

The Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) strongman said this at a press conference at 2pm at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur after meeting the Agong at the Astana at 10.30am today.

ā€œWe have registered a formidable convincing majority among the Parliamentarians. We would appeal to Malaysians to exercise patience, wisdom to allow the King to digest and decide based on the Constitution and the discretion of His Highness.

ā€œMeanwhile, we must also remember that Prime Minister (Tan Sri) Muhyiddin Yassin has lost his majority and therefore it is appropriate for him to resign,ā€ said Anwar.

He added that he had handed over the necessary documents and Statutory Declarations (SDs) to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong during the meeting.

Meanwhile, the Comptroller of the Royal Household Datuk Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin issued a statement which revealed Anwar did not present the list of Parliamentarians purportedly supporting him during his session with the King.

The statement also pointed out that the King advised Anwar to abide by and respect the legal process as enshrined in the Federal Constitution. ā€” DayakDaily
