Sarawak records zero new Covid-19 cases, two recoveries

KUCHING, Oct 13: Zero new Covid-19 cases were recorded in Sarawak today, maintaining the state’s tally of positive cases at 752.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement also revealed that two patients have been discharged from Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) and Miri Hospital respectively.

This raises the total number of recovered cases in Sarawak to 690 or 91.76 per cent of total positive cases so far.


A total of 43 patients are receiving treatment in hospitals in the state currently with 25 in SGH, seven in Miri Hospital, seven in Bintulu Hospital and four in Bintulu Hospital.

There are two active clusters in Sarawak namely the Bah Arnab Cluster in Kuching with four cases and Putra Cluster in Bintulu with six cases, including the index case.

For the Bah Arnab Cluster, a total of 40 contacts have been screened, out of which 36 were negative. There are no lab test results pending.

There were no new cases reported in the Putra Cluster as of 12pm today, with one of its six positive cases registered in Selangor.

A total of 133 contacts have been screened, out of which 109 were negative and 18 individuals are awaiting lab test results.

Four districts namely Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu and Lubok Antu maintained their Covid-19 yellow zone status, with a total of 12 local transmission cases recorded within the past 14 days.

Sarawak also recorded 10 more Persons-Under-Investigation (PUI) with eight cases pending laboratory test results.

There were also 332 more Persons-Under-Surveillance (PUS) checked into identified hotels to undergo quarantine.

As of today, there are a total of 2,057 individuals undergoing quarantine in 19 hotels throughout the state. — DayakDaily
