According to the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), Takahashi told reporters that the courtesy call was to express gratitude to the Sarawak government for the good treatment of the Japanese companies and community in Sarawak.

“The purpose of this visit is to express our gratitude to the Sarawak government for the excellent care provided to Japanese companies and the Japanese community.

“About 150 people and 30 Japanese companies operate in Sarawak, where business operations are very good, so we are very grateful,” he said.

Meanwhile, he stated that Sarawak has the potential to attract Japanese companies in a variety of industries.

“I believe Sarawak has a very strong potential for many businesses, including Malaysia in general.

“Despite the constraints faced during the previous Covid-19 pandemic, Japanese companies are still interested in doing business in Sarawak.
