“We discussed over 70 projects valued at nearly RM1.5 billion in total. However, for this year alone, we will proceed with tendering RM1.2 billion worth of projects,” he told reporters after chairing the RADDA Steering Committee Meeting at the Sarikei Divisional Administrative Centre today.

Len Talif, who is also Sarawak Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration, and Environment, assured that implementation will proceed as planned, coordinated by key executing agencies including the Public Works Department (JKR), Sarikei District Council, Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA), and Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID), among others.

Describing overall project planning and implementation progress as satisfactory, Len Talif noted that the implementation period ranges from 18 to 36 months depending on project scale and type.

He emphasised that the initiative reflects Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg’s commitment to fast-track rural development, particularly in underdeveloped areas of Sarikei and Mukah.

Also present at the meeting were 11 state assemblypersons and three Members of Parliament from the Sarikei and Mukah regions. — DayakDaily
