The event was thoughtfully organised by Elvin Wee, Alvin Chen, Amrin Anuar, and Michael Lee, who ensured every detail paid tribute to the legacy of St Joseph’s and the strong bonds formed within its halls.

The evening began with a stirring rendition of the school anthem, immediately transporting attendees back to their formative years.

Emcee Alvin Chen then extended heartfelt welcoming remarks, paying tribute to the teachers whose guidance had left an indelible mark on their lives.

Dr Desmond Tan, the evening’s main sponsor, delivered an inspiring address, honouring the invaluable role of educators and the profound influence they had on students’ personal and professional journeys.

He also acknowledged classmates who made special efforts to attend from across the globe—including the United States, Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and various parts of Sarawak.

While laughter and celebration filled the night, the reunion also embraced solemn reflection as the group honoured the memory of 15 classmates who had passed away. Their presence was deeply felt, their legacy kept alive in the hearts of those who remembered them.

A symbolic cake-cutting ceremony marked the dual milestones of turning 50 and 33 years since graduation—powerful reminders of time’s passage and the friendships that continue to flourish.

In a touching gesture of gratitude, each teacher was presented with a fruit box gift—a small token of immense appreciation for their dedication and influence.

One of the evening’s most poignant moments came with the screening of a flashback video, filled with cherished images of school days and heartfelt moments between teachers and students. It served as a time capsule of joy, growth, and camaraderie, rekindling bonds that have stood resilient through the decades.

More than a simple reunion, the night stood as a testament to the lifelong connections fostered through shared experiences and mentorship. It was a celebration not just of the past, but of the enduring spirit of brotherhood among the St Joseph’s Class of ’92.

Notable attendees included former principal Gerald Lee, deputy principal Aloysius Wee, and Dato Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, Chief Political Secretary to the Premier of Sarawak, who added distinction to an already memorable occasion. — DayakDaily
