KUCHING, June 10: Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap has allocated RM200,000 under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) for proposed upgrading works on the earth drain located beside the entrance of Lorong 11, Jalan Semaba.

According to a Facebook post on SUPP Kota Sentosa’s page, Yap recently conducted a site visit with Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) officers to assess the existing drainage system and discuss proposed upgrading works to resolve long-standing issues affecting local residents.

During the visit, Yap was briefed by MPP’s engineering team on the proposed scope of works, which involves replacing the current earth drain with a concrete drain system.

“This initiative is part of Yap’s commitment to improving infrastructure and enhancing the living environment for the community in Kota Sentosa,” the post said.

The Bill of Quantities (BQ) and technical specifications are currently being finalised by MPP engineers to ensure efficient and cost-effective implementation of the project.

“Once completed, the upgraded concrete drain will help mitigate flash floods during heavy rainfall and improve overall water flow in the area,” it said.

Yap reaffirmed his dedication to addressing the infrastructure needs of his constituents and said he will continue to work closely with relevant agencies to ensure development projects are carried out effectively and bring tangible benefits to the people. — DayakDaily
