SIBU, Dec 24: A 44-year-old man escaped in the nick of time after the 3-tonne lorry he was driving suddenly caught fire this morning at Jalan Wong King Huo.
According to Sibu Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) acting chief, Wan Kamaruddin Wan Ahmad, the vehicle was completely destroyed by the fire and is beyond repair.
The department received a distress call from the driver at 10.23am and immediately despatched a team of firefighters to the scene. The team subsequently put out the fire.
“No casualty was reported,” Wan Kamaruddin added.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated. — DayakDaily
